Trágico accidente aéreo en Vichada deja ocho fallecidos

El equipo, compuesto por cuatro hombres y cuatro mujeres, estaba en una misión humanitaria en la región.

En la mañana del domingo 29 de septiembre, un helicóptero Huey II FAC-4441 de la Fuerza Aérea Colombiana se estrelló en la vereda Garabato, municipio de Cumaribo, Vichada, resultando en la trágica muerte de sus ocho tripulantes.

La Fuerza Aérea Colombiana confirmó los nombres de los fallecidos: Julián Perilla Pinto, Edgar Durán Villareal, Jhonattan Caro Rincón, Liceth Duarte Barbosa, Karel Rojas Núñez, Luis Montoya Ospina, Ana María Gutiérrez Bolívar y María González Ramírez. En un comunicado oficial, expresaron su profundo pesar por la pérdida de estos valientes servidores públicos y extendieron sus condolencias a las familias y amigos de las víctimas.

El presidente Gustavo Petro también manifestó su solidaridad a través de sus redes sociales, destacando que los tripulantes estaban en camino a una misión para salvar una vida. Por su parte, el gobernador de Vichada, Hecson Alexis Benito Castro, explicó que el helicóptero había despegado de la base de Marandúa con destino a Guanapis, en el municipio de Cumaribo, para rescatar a una persona en estado grave. Lamentablemente, las condiciones climáticas adversas provocaron el accidente.

El gobernador agradeció a las fuerzas militares por su dedicación y valentía al atender a la población, a pesar de los riesgos, y lamentó profundamente esta tragedia que enluta a todo el país.

Tercer accidente en el año

El pasado 5 de febrero, un UH-60 Black Hawk del Ejército se estrelló en la zona del Darién, en la frontera con Panamá, accidente que dejó cuatro muertos y tres heridos. La aeronave transportaba carga para la Base Militar Cuti, Ungía, en el departamento del Chocó.

Asimismo, el 29 de abril, nueve militares murieron cuando otro helicóptero, un MI-17 del Ejército, se estrelló en el departamento de Bolívar cuando abastecía a tropas en una operación contra la banda criminal Clan del Golfo.
